You don't have to explain yourself to anyone. You showed up. That's enough.

The loop

How the chain works

Four moments. One unbroken loop. Every person both gives and receives.

01

Write freely

No prompts. No rules. Say whatever is on your mind — a confession, a joke, a piece of advice, a quiet truth. The blank page is yours.

02

Post it blind

You hit send without seeing the current message. No peeking, no preview. Just trust. Your words enter the chain the moment you post.

03

Receive a gift

The message left by the person before you unlocks instantly. A stranger's thought, written just before yours. Sometimes funny. Sometimes profound.

04

The chain lives on

Your message is now the gift for the next person. They will read it after they post. The chain never breaks — it just keeps passing forward.

Voices from the chain

What people felt

I wrote about my divorce at 2am. I don't know who read it — but writing it felt like putting down something I'd been carrying for months.

Questions

Frequently asked

Everything you wanted to know before you post.

Yes — completely and permanently. There are no premium tiers, no hidden fees, and no paywalls. POSTREAD is supported by non-intrusive advertising, which means you never pay a cent.

No account, no sign-up, no email address required. You arrive, you write, you read. That's it. We have no way to connect your message to your identity — by design.

The very next person who visits POSTREAD and decides to post. It could be someone in your city or someone on the other side of the world. You will never know — and neither will they.

No. Every reader must first be a writer. This is the rule that makes the chain fair and keeps the messages real. You give one honest thought, you receive one in return.

We store no name, email, phone number, or any personal identifier alongside your message. Your IP address is used briefly to detect your country and apply rate limits, then discarded. No profile is ever created for you.

Messages are automatically eligible for removal after 30 days. Messages that violate our community guidelines may be removed earlier by our moderation team — but they cannot identify who wrote them.

Anything honest and human — reflections, jokes, confessions, encouragement, observations about life. Hate speech, harassment, explicit content, and spam are not permitted and will be removed.

Messages are moderated for basic community guidelines, but we don't filter for taste or preference. Sometimes the message you receive is strange or unexpected — that's part of the experience. Every post is anonymous and not targeted at you personally.
